Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic care focuses on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions related to the spine, joints, muscles, and nervous system. Chiropractors use hands-on techniques, including spinal and joint adjustments, soft tissue therapy, and movement-based strategies to help improve mobility, reduce pain, and support overall musculoskeletal function.
Chiropractic care is a regulated healthcare profession focused on the assessment, diagnosis, and management of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions. Care emphasizes the relationship between the spine, joints, muscles, connective tissues, and the nervous system, and how these systems work together to support movement, function, and daily activity.
Chiropractors use a combination of manual and instrument-assisted techniques to address joint mobility, muscle tension, movement patterns, and biomechanical stress. Treatment plans are individualized and may include spinal or extremity adjustments, soft-tissue therapy, movement and posture assessment, rehabilitation exercises, and therapeutic modalities to support tissue recovery and functional improvement.
At Main Street Wellness, chiropractic care is delivered with a patient-centered, integrative approach. Appointments are structured to allow adequate time for assessment, clinical explanation, hands-on treatment, and progression of care. Techniques and intensity are selected based on patient comfort, clinical findings, and individual goals, with options always discussed and consented to prior to treatment.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is a supportive, hands-on approach to care that focuses on relieving physical tension, supporting recovery, and helping your body settle into a calmer, more balanced state. Whether you’re dealing with ongoing stress, muscle tightness, or discomfort from daily life or activity, massage can be an effective part of your overall wellness routine.
Many people seek massage therapy to help manage stress and feel more at ease in their body. Sessions are often described as grounding and restorative, helping to quiet the nervous system while easing areas of tension. For others, massage is used to support physical comfort, mobility, and recovery from repetitive strain, physical work, or athletic activity.
Massage therapy may be incorporated as part of care for chronic muscle tension, headaches, joint stiffness, or conditions such as fibromyalgia or arthritis, with treatment always adapted to comfort level and individual needs. Care is not rushed, and techniques are selected based on how your body presents on the day of your appointment.
Regular massage can also support circulation, tissue mobility, and overall movement quality. Many patients notice improved ease of movement, reduced stiffness, and a greater sense of body awareness over time. For active individuals, massage is often used to support recovery, flexibility, and performance between training or physically demanding periods.
At Main Street Wellness, massage therapy is delivered in a calm, professional environment where your goals, comfort, and preferences guide each session. Whether you’re coming in to unwind, manage ongoing tension, or support your physical wellbeing, your therapist will work with you to provide care that feels supportive, respectful, and effective.
Acupuncture and Cupping
Acupuncture is a holistic therapy rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that supports balance, circulation, and the body’s natural ability to regulate and recover. Your initial consultation and treatment are designed to understand your individual health concerns and to provide care tailored to your unique needs and goals.
During your first visit, time is spent reviewing your health history, current concerns, and overall well-being. A Traditional Chinese Medicine assessment may be performed, including observation of the tongue and pulse. These findings help guide an individualized treatment approach based on your presentation at the time of your appointment.
Treatment involves the gentle insertion of fine acupuncture needles into selected points on the body. Many patients describe the experience as calming and deeply relaxing.
When appropriate, cupping therapy may be incorporated during an acupuncture session to further support circulation, tissue release, and muscle relaxation. Cupping is used selectively based on individual presentation and comfort, and may be applied to areas of muscle tension or restricted movement.
Acupuncture takes a whole-person approach, recognizing how physical symptoms, stress, lifestyle, and internal balance are interconnected. Rather than focusing only on isolated symptoms, care is adjusted over time based on how your body responds and how you are feeling between visits.
Patients commonly seek acupuncture to support pain and muscle tension management, injury recovery, stress regulation, sleep quality, digestion, hormonal balance, energy levels, and overall well-being. Your practitioner will explain the treatment process, answer questions, and ensure your comfort and informed consent throughout the session.
How Acupuncture (with Cupping When Appropriate) May Support You:
•Management of pain, muscle tension, and physical discomfort
•Recovery from injury, repetitive strain, or physical stress
•Stress regulation and nervous system balance
•Emotional well-being during periods of stress or change
•Sleep quality, restfulness, and difficulty falling or staying asleep
•Digestive comfort, including bloating or irregular digestion
•Hormonal balance and menstrual cycle support
•Fertility support and reproductive health planning
•Support alongside fertility treatments or assisted reproductive care, when appropriate
•Energy levels, fatigue, and burnout
•Headaches, jaw tension, and tension-related discomfort
•Circulation and tissue recovery
•Support during lifestyle transitions, high workloads, or recovery periods
•Overall sense of relaxation, balance, and well-being
Traditional Chinese Medicine & Herbal Prescription 传统中医药
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a holistic healthcare system that focuses on understanding patterns of imbalance within the body rather than addressing symptoms in isolation. By considering how different body systems interact with lifestyle, stress, environment, and overall constitution, TCM aims to support balance and long-term well-being through individualized care.
From a TCM perspective, health is viewed as a dynamic balance within the body. When this balance is disrupted, it may present as physical discomfort, fatigue, digestive concerns, stress, or other functional changes. TCM practitioners assess these patterns through a detailed health history and observation, allowing treatment to be tailored to the whole person — including physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors.
Herbal medicine is an important component of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is used to support the body’s natural regulatory processes. Carefully selected herbal formulas are prescribed based on individual presentation and are designed to support balance, resilience, and internal harmony. Herbal care may be used to support digestion, stress response, sleep, energy levels, and overall organ system function as part of a broader treatment plan.
In many cases, herbal medicine is combined with acupuncture to provide a more comprehensive approach to care. Acupuncture and herbal therapy work together to support circulation, regulation, and recovery, with treatment adjusted over time based on how the body responds. This combined approach allows care to remain flexible, personalized, and responsive to changing needs.
TCM care is commonly sought by patients looking for support with digestive concerns, stress and emotional regulation, sleep quality, pain or tension management, women’s health concerns, and overall well-being. Your practitioner will discuss treatment options, answer questions, and ensure recommendations align with your comfort level and health goals.
How Traditional Chinese Medicine & Herbal Care May Support You? Patients often seek TCM and herbal care to support:
•Digestive comfort and regulation, including bloating, appetite changes, and irregular digestion
•Stress management, emotional balance, and nervous system regulation
•Sleep quality, restfulness, and daytime energy levels
•Physical tension, discomfort, stiffness, and recovery from strain
•Hormonal balance and women’s health concerns, including menstrual cycle support, fertility support, and menopause-related changes
•Reproductive health support for individuals and couples planning or preparing for pregnancy
•Support alongside assisted reproductive care, when appropriate
•Immune resilience and seasonal wellness support
•Fatigue, burnout, and overall vitality
•Circulation and internal balance
•Skin health concerns are influenced by internal patterns
•Headaches or tension-related discomfort
•Support during periods of lifestyle change, stress, or recovery
•Overall sense of balance, well-being, and body awareness
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy offers a confidential, supportive, and structured space to explore thoughts, emotions, and life experiences that may be affecting your wellbeing, relationships, or day to day functioning. It is a collaborative process, guided by a trained therapist, where patients are supported in better understanding patterns in how they think, feel, and respond to challenges.
There does not need to be a crisis or diagnosis to begin psychotherapy. Many people seek therapy during periods of stress, transition, or uncertainty, when something feels difficult, overwhelming, or simply not quite right. Reaching out early can be a meaningful step toward clarity, emotional balance, and resilience.
Psychotherapy may be helpful if you are experiencing ongoing stress, anxiety, low mood, emotional overwhelm, relationship or family concerns, parenting stress, grief or loss, burnout, or challenges related to life transitions such as changes in work, family, health, or identity. Therapy can also support individuals who are seeking greater self awareness, improved coping strategies, or personal growth.
Sessions are tailored to each patient’s unique needs, goals, and pace. Care is grounded in evidence informed therapeutic approaches and focuses on helping individuals build insight, emotional regulation skills, and practical tools that support everyday life. The therapeutic process is respectful, collaborative, and centred on creating a safe space where patients feel heard and supported.
As part of an integrated healthcare setting, psychotherapy complements physical and rehabilitative care by addressing the emotional and psychological factors that influence recovery, pain management, stress, and overall quality of life. The goal of psychotherapy is not only to support symptom relief, but to foster greater self understanding, healthier coping patterns, and longterm emotional wellbeing.
